Dr. William Robinson grew up in the farming and ranch country of southwest South Dakota,
not far from the Black Hills. His life there gave him an appreciation for the West and its
horses, livestock, and wildlife. The rigors of post depression prairie life have also
instilled in him an interest in barns and homesteads fast disappearing from the landscape. The
subject matter of Dr. Robinson's paintings is influenced by a boyhood spent on a ranch
where a number of cowboys passed through driving cattle. He and his sister had horses of
their own when they were children as well. He has been painting since elementary school,
when a teacher encouraged his abilities for more than five years in the little country
school he attended in South Dakota.
Dr. Robinson and his wife enjoy gardening and feeding wild birds such as pheasants and
quail on their "farm" where he also raises some cattle. He hopes that you can
share in his experiences through these limited edition fine artwork prints that he has
provided. |
